GO EXCHANGE - You can make a difference!
"I
hope this job never ends" - Gladys, (Jinja Uganda) says with a
beautiful smile as she irons fabric before it is hand
dyed and sewn into beautiful cotton scarves, and then she irons them again. All
day she irons with gratitude! She loves her job, she loves the
opportunity, and she loves the provision for her family! She is thankful for the GO Exchange
When you purchase something, do you stop to consider the people who made that product, or maybe a part of the product. I don't. I run to a store, pick up what I need, and think about what's next in my day. It's all about ME!
Last Saturday, I, (Isabelle's mom) spent the day with the GO Exchange leadership team. We spent the whole day talking about people - our artisans that work in the Exchange, their children, and the orphans that we care for in our GO Project communities around the world.
You see, the marketplace called GO Exchange is different than anything else you'll find out there. In this marketplace, it's all about THEM!! It starts with the workers, their families, and the kids, we at GO Project care for. Then we start talking about the product.
We talk about things like giving dignity to people who desperately need jobs to prevent their children from becoming orphans. We know that many of these workers are caring for their biological children, but they are also caring for orphaned neighbors or relatives. In one of our sewing boutiques in Uganda, each staff member is caring for their biological children and orphaned neighbors or relatives! Many orphans are in similar situations - they are not in orphanages, but with neighbors or relatives.
How can we help prevent more orphans? The GO Exchange through the Global Orphan Project
We partner with the local church to support what pastors are already doing in their communities.
We help support children living in communities with schools, education, food, medical care, and mommas to love them.
We create jobs that pay LIVING wages to support families/communities as a means of orphan prevention.
We educate, train, and employ young adults as they age out of care through our Pathways program.
It starts with them! The link below for our "virtual exchange" that is open 'til Christmas. We may not be able to come to your house and help you host an in-home exchange, so you can hear stories from the workers online and then shop!
It is THE PLACE to shop for all your Fall/Holiday purchases! 100% of all profits go directly to the children in our care.

Let us know if you have any questions about the people who make the
amazing items, or the items themselves.
Your purchases will allow children to go to school, receive food and medical care that they need, and will allow beautiful people to have great jobs and to provide for their biological children as well as orphaned relatives that live with them. You are making a difference! THANK YOU!!!
