A BIG Event!

What an honor Isabelle had last weekend to attend the GO Project Big Event in Kansas City. She had the privilege of meeting 2 very important families from 2 very special places to her.

This is Peter, Emma, and Alpha Maesko from Malawi, Africa. Isabelle raised funds to build a home in their village.
She was also so blessed to meet Moise and Francois Vaval from Port au Prince, Haiti. Moise was featured on CBS 60 minutes show this spring. His son was Isabelle's age and died in the earthquake. Kevin met Moise this summer when he went to Haiti and saw where the 5 homes will be built that Isabelle & her friends raised funds for.

She had HUGE hugs and BIG smiles for both of these humble pastors and their families. It was an amazing evening! I asked Isabelle what her favorite part of the night was. (She saw so many old friends from church and her trip to Haiti - so I wasn't sure what she would say.) Her answer was quick - getting to know Peter and Moise. She was very moved by these men, their stories, and their families.

As we looked back over the evening we were struck at how the Lord connects our hearts so quickly! They are truly our brothers and sisters in Christ! We don't have to live in the same place or speak the same language - God is still God! He is our Father!
What an amazing God we serve.

We look forward to the opportunities God has in store for us in the future!

These are pictures from Kabale, Africa. This is near Uganda, where Isabelle's 3rd home is. She has raised enough money to support all 10 children in her home for 3 years! She is very excited to be able to help with there meals, school, care, etc.

Why I Love Orphans

Hi everyone and Happy New Year!!! I feel this year will be full of promise and God's blessings.  Lately, I have been thinking about the true reason behind why I help orphans.  My work for Him comes from three main principles:  1.  Wait for HIS timing. Waiting on Him requires patience, it's not always easy, but who said following God and having patience would be easy? 2.  TRUST His plan for me. Trusting in Him is the basics of faith!  When you trust Him, you are showing Him you believe in and want His plan for your life. 3.  I couldn't let a problem go UNANSWERED.  After hearing about orphans and the daily struggles in their lives, I couldn't just stand back and watch.  I wanted to do something more.  Helping orphans, I believe is what God is asking me to do, now and in my future life.  These children mean to much to me, as a teenager I know what it means to have a good home, a warm bed and nice clothes. 1st Annual GO Project Run/Walk

What a fun morning with friends and for a GREAT cause! We were joined by our friends Myah & her mom Annie as we walked 3.2 miles for the Global Orphan Project. It was raining as we drove to the event, but THANKFULLY it did not rain on us at the walk! Isabelle was asked to start the race! She was pumped and got to blow a LOUD horn! She's in the pink pants/white shirt on the STUMP! Our 3 little racers finished in about 47 minutes!! Racin' for a great cause!

We love the vision, the heart, the passion behind World Mandate - it's a place to catch vision, to be inspired, and to be moved into action for God's purposes in the world. In September 2011, Isabelle designed a WM exclusive card in order to raise funds to build a home in Rukore Village, Uganda.  She sold out of the 300 boxes and we had to take orders for more.  The home was built in March 2012 and the children have moved in!  This completed her 9th home!! This year for WM, Isabelle designed a new card based on photos she'd seen of the home in Rukore, Uganda.  We took 400 boxes - that's 4000 cards to sell with all of the proceeds going to the life care costs for the children living in that home for 3 years. ...
