God's Sovereignty

Do you ever wonder whether or not God is completely in control of all the details in your life? Do you really know how much God loves you? Does your heart break for the things that break Gods heart?

These were 3 questions that went through my head this morning after Isabelle spoke at a local church.

The pastor called us 2 months ago to ask if we'd share our story about orphans, Haiti, and our work with the Global Orphan Project. Of course we said "Yes", but little did we know that a HUGE earthquake was about to hit Haiti. So is God COMPLETELY in control of all the details in our lives - ABSOLUTELY YES!!!

Do I really know how much God loves me? There is NO doubt about how much He loves me or how much He loves you. God sent His ONLY Son to die a horrible death for you, for me, for every child! Today I saw His love in HUGE ways as the pastor challenged the church to help Isabelle finish her 7th house. His challenge $1000. This church family gave more than $2000!!! Does God love His children - YOU BET!!! He showed it through the love of His people - the church!

Does my heart break for the things that break Gods heart? Does your heart? I saw the hearts of many this morning breaking for what breaks Gods heart . . . the old & young alike were broken for the plight of orphans, weeping for the children of Haiti, and ready to DO whatever God asked of them. The church showed their brokenness in a tangible way, by helping Isabelle finish house #7! AMAZING!!!

God is in control! His plans will always prevail. TRUST HIM!!! Will you allow Him to use you? We are grateful for His abundant goodness today . . . we can't wait to see what else He has in store.

Update: Isabelle has decided to build house 4,5,6,7 in Haiti. She would really like to build an "Isabelle Village" - this is a big commitment for her to make, but she wants to go for it! We love that about her. We'll keep you posted on the details!

Why I Love Orphans

Hi everyone and Happy New Year!!! I feel this year will be full of promise and God's blessings.  Lately, I have been thinking about the true reason behind why I help orphans.  My work for Him comes from three main principles:  1.  Wait for HIS timing. 1st Annual GO Project Run/Walk

What a fun morning with friends and for a GREAT cause! We were joined by our friends Myah & her mom Annie as we walked 3.2 miles for the Global Orphan Project. It was raining as we drove to the event, but THANKFULLY it did not rain on us at the walk! Isabelle was asked to start the race! She was pumped and got to blow a LOUD horn! She's in the pink pants/white shirt on the STUMP! Our 3 little racers finished in about 47 minutes!! Racin' for a great cause!

We love the vision, the heart, the passion behind World Mandate - it's a place to catch vision, to be inspired, and to be moved into action for God's purposes in the world. In September 2011, Isabelle designed a WM exclusive card in order to raise funds to build a home in Rukore Village, Uganda.  She sold out of the 300 boxes and we had to take orders for more.  The home was built in March 2012 and the children have moved in!  This completed her 9th home!! This year for WM, Isabelle designed a new card based on photos she'd seen of the home in Rukore, Uganda.  We took 400 boxes - that's 4000 cards to sell with all of the proceeds going to the life care costs for the children living in that home for 3 years. ...
